任天堂の周辺機器の乱発ぶりは今も昔も変わりませんが、やっぱりこういう恐れ知らずなチャレンジ精神あっての任天堂かな、と思いますよ。スピードボードはちょっと擁護不可能ですが。

面白い発想出すのも失敗を恐れずにそれを形にするのも上手いんですが、結局対応するソフトが少なかったりしてフェードアウトしちゃうことが多いですよねー。GBAのカードリーダーとか面白そうだったんですが。
