剣と魔法が紡ぐファンタジーシュミレーションゲームの【エルスリード】・【ガイアの紋章】と発売してきたＮ.Ｃ.Ｓが、今度はメカニカルな近未来的シミュレーションゲームを１９８７年に発売。当作品【ガイフレーム】はガイア大陸を舞台とした前述の２作品の完結編となる。メカニカルデザインはご存知、大張正己氏。エルスリードの４千数百年後の科学が進歩し、剣と魔法が伝説とされた時代が舞台となる。広大なガイア大陸に隠されているクリスタルを集めて未知の力を復活させ、ヴェルダース軍を壊滅させることができるか？らしいよ
