  • Aldebaran (Taurus) is Brazilian, LOL. And I think the correct is Polyglot (one who speaks a lot of languages). But in truth, I only speak three...

  • LoL, no (I wish). In fact, I studied Japanese for a time. I can read Hiragana and Katakana (and some 20 or 30 kanji, yeah, I know, I suck). I can read, but I don't understand what I'm reading though..

  • I can actually understand French quite well, but I'm not confident enough to speak. I've been studying and reading in French for a whole year now. That would be the third language...

  • I intend to fully study Japanese after I'm confident enough with my French language skills. Maybe learn German, who knows, hehe

  • Wow! French seems to be difficult for me, but you can understand... GREAT!! I'm sure you can have a command of four, yea five languages soon (*^^*)

  • It would be nice, but I don't know, I'm not that smart, hehe. But it's good to know a lot of languages when you do academic research

  • It's great when you can read the author's work on his/her original language, you don't lose what would be lost when translations are made

  • @Vykthor: I don't feel right that you aren't smart! You're an amazing person(*^^*) I have felt sense of incongruity to see a translated sentence and text. And it was just then

  • I wanted to know foreign language much better! I want to become able to manage English at least.

  • I'd say "English is easy", but I know how different it is from Japanese, be it in the writing, speaking, cultural behavior and cognitive structure. It must be hell to re-alphabetize yourself

  • I had to learn how to write and read from scratch when I studied Japanese, so I can kinda relate to that. When someone has an English level like yours it's already amazing, believe me

  • I still have a hell lot of stuff to learn. My grandpa was a teacher, he could play 4 instruments. He was a maestro (conductor), could write high level poetry, was a professional photographer ->

  • he had amazing painting and drawing skills (he was a photographer in the 30s-90s, so he had to deal with film, B&W photos that people wanted in color, etc) and used to compose (music)

  • Next to him, I'm nothing, hehe. He actually taught me how to photograph and paint (although I'm better at taking pictures than drawing/painting), but not anything musical
