加川・南国地区開発記　今回、魚津線の線形を変更しました。理由は、魚津町の南にある漁港集落の住民から、魚津線を漁港経由にしてほしいという要望があったからです。これまでは、魚津駅を出ると真っ直ぐ進んでそのまま隣町に接続するルートでしたが、魚津駅を出ると南に曲がり、そして海岸沿いを走るルートに変更されました。また、魚津線は加川地区内で一番のドル箱路線だと言うのに単線で、列車の本数も少なかったので、この機会に土地に余裕がある、魚津～隣町間を複線にして、列車のすれ違いをできるようにしました。これで、本数は約2倍になります。
