    (長文注意!) 元々はブルークリスタルロッドは天にあり、ギルのいた王国はその光で守られていましたが、帝国の侵略により王国は滅亡、帝国は天の神に届くような塔を建てたためロッドの光が失われ、封印されていたドルアーガが復活しました。その後塔はアヌ神によって破壊されるもドルアーガの魔力によって修復、アヌ神の雷で撃たれた帝国兵をモンスターとして甦らせて塔の中に放ち、ドルアーガはブルークリスタルロッドを持って塔に立てこもりました。 王国再建を目指していたギルとカイでしたが、ギルは崩れた塔の下敷きとなり負傷、そこで女神イシターはカイに魔法のティアラを授け、塔に遣わせたのですがドルアーガに捕らえられてしまいました。 そしてアヌ神はギルに黄金の鎧を与え、カイを救うと共にブルークリスタルロッドの奪還を使命にドルアーガの塔に乗り込みました。　というのが今回のお話(季刊NG1984年6号より抜粋)
