ボス図鑑　～SA-X～サムスのパワードスーツに擬態したXで、このゲーム最大の敵。あらゆる装備を使ってサムスを追い詰める姿は多くのプレイヤーにトラウマを植え付けた。最終的に10体以上に分裂する。扉をスーパーミサイルで破壊したりビームで開けたり、サムスを凍らせてから攻撃する一方で、メトロイド相手にミサイルを撃ちまくったりするなど、行動に矛盾が見られることから、個体差があるらしい。
