    Generally, long sword, dual blades, and hammer are good beginners weps. I say try them all.

    if you're playing in a group, dual blades are some of the best. if solo, go greatsword or hammer

    Sounds like you want longsword, duals, or SnS. Longsword isn't TERRIBLY fast but it's quick enough.
