    Just having them in your inventory while you combine increases your chance of success.

    you don't really use them. when you own them, they increase the chance of making an item.

    put them in your box and when you combine things in there the % goes up. likewise for your pouch

    They automatically improve your ability to combine items as long as they are in your item pouch.

    Since the different Combo Books stack, it is best to use all the ones you have when combining.

    However, this clogs your pouch, so I prefer to put all my Combo Books in the item box and combine

    They also improve your combining from your storage box if they are in your storage box!
