Nintendo has games consistently hitting starting in August going through early 2014
Sooner if you decide to count Game and Wario and New Super Luigi U among them as well as eShop.

Third parties have almost always been the reason for more "adult" experiences, as you call them,
appearing on Nintendo systems. Nearly every title coming out through to the end of the year
covers a wide variety of genres.
