Anyone else wish that more people could kindly explain why a certain 3rd party character wouldn't be included (Sora, Shadow, Rayman) instead of blocking/going ballistic on the person who requested it?

    Well correct me if I'm wrong, SSBB had two quest characters only: Sonic & Snake. If this repeats with SSB4 the quota is already filled: Megaman & Sonic. IMO I think they might do 3 this time around.

    Sora didn't have anything near enough with Nintendo, Shadow and Rayman would be good, For Shadow, Third Party series can get one character per company.

    Sora can't fit in because there would be Disney characters in the game because Kingdom Hearts is a cross-over game combine with Disney and Square Enix.

    Rayman, he was part of some of Nintendo Consoles and Handhelds, he is the mascot of Ubisoft, Nintendo owns Rayman Legends in Japan.

    For Shadow, he is a popular Sonic character and Nintendo and Sega has partnership together, doesn't mean that he's gonna be in, Third Party series can get only one per company, I like the idea though.

    Well, a Mii named Ryan told me about it. He has sunglasses, a goatie, a red shirt, and his hair is straight with bangs, he knows a lot of this.

    Yeah, but I've been looking at every interview with Sakurai, and I've never seen him say that. I've seen "I'm not gonna put just anyone in my game", but beyond that, IDK.

    You know who Ryan is? I know, I didn't hear Sakurai saying that, he did say that he won't add too many third party characters. Ryan have said it to other people.

    Sora has no close affiliation with Nintendo. Sonic already represents Sega so Shadow is not needed and Rayman dropped his exclusive Nintendo game to other platforms. Plain simple explanation IMO.

    one things for sure though, don't have shadow as a costume for sonic! either make him an assist trophy or a completely different character.
