  • As far as I know, the thunderbird is unique to this game alone, and has not been mentioned in any other games in the franchise. I often thought it was being depicted in the bird motif on many shields

  • ... since the first appearance on the artwork (and later in-game models) of Link's shield in ALttP. Sadly, that was not the case, as the bird motif has been designated as the Crimson Loftwing in SS.
