    I'd rather have the Wii U off and watch Netflix in bed on the gamepad. Same with regular tv!!

    I think you CAN do it. Press 'Home', then 'Controller Settings', then the pad. Turn off screen.

    No, that doesn't work. Doing that pauses the stream and you have to turn the pad back on to hit play
