    Color is not something an artist can get right away. I usually observe other people's artwork and see what colors are blended together. I would recommend drawing from life.

    Shadows and light play a HUGE part in drawing as well. On Youtube, check out a guy named Sycra. He has several drawing videos including a big series on shading and shadow! I learned a lot from him!
