    The shield goes with the particular weapon, some weapon types don't have shields for instance like dual blades or the bow

    The inventory is not unlimited but it is VERY LARGE plenty big enough to collect all the armor and weapons you will want.

    for every class[ long sword, sword & shield, lance ect.] you can get a wide verity or different looking wepons so it no like there is just ONE great sword.

    Bows, light bowguns, heavy bowguns and switch axes (switches between an axe and sword - cool mechanics if you watch while it changes)

    there is a bow and a switchaxe. the switchaxe can go from axe to sword.

    Too many details to delve into on miiverse... Besides you will want to take it in at a pace you are comfortable with. After many generations of this game it is very developed with many nuances.
