When I say I want characters to have new moves, I don't mean "oh, see, this character's attack goes 3 degrees up now or does 2% more damage". I want to tell characters apart without a protractor

  • Every character could be beautifully unique. Every single pallete swap could make someone go "OMG, that's ___ from ___"

    Yeahs0
  • capt. falcon's move actually came from a comic he was in that was done by nintendo if im not mistaken. he actually used the falcon punch first in that comic.

    Yeahs0
  • but more importantly capt. falcon's games involve racing 100% of the time. where would they get moves from solely in-game?

    Yeahs0
  • In the official F-Zero manual, which is from the actual game, which supersedes any anime or manga. He uses a blaster. There's his B attack

    Yeahs0
  • B: Up. Jumpplate, you gotta think. What does C.F. have in his environment? Jumpplates. Made for the express purpose of boosting something or someone upwards

    Yeahs0
  • does he use the blaster in game while the players are racing around on the course?

    Yeahs0
  • does he run along the course on foot jumping off of jump plates in game? is that actual footage?

    Yeahs0
  • I'm going to go with no. But at least it'll make people say. Oh! It's the _Land Mine_ from _F-Zero on the Nes-. Certainly more relevant to the source material, than his mid air hump attack

    Yeahs0
  • Blimey, he has his blaster strapped to his leg in brawl. Now they're just taunting us. The only reason Captain Falcon has the moveset he does, is because he's a recolour of some Deagon King guy

    Yeahs0
  • Which makes me pretty certain, they barely had F-Zero in mind with his inclusion

    Yeahs0
  • then you're doing exactly what you're accusing nintendo of doing: making up moves that the character never used in game.

    Yeahs0
  • It wouldn't hurt them to have moves that at least have something to do with F-Zero

    Yeahs0
  • it would if it didnt look right. it would probably confuse more than it would help.

    Yeahs0
  • That's the problem. The real captain falcon is so obscure now, and now everyone know him as the dragon king recolour.

    Yeahs0
  • C. Falcon's moves actually came from the character in the beta SSB where nobody was Nintendo.

    Yeahs0
  • I don't really care. He's an awesome iconic character and totally unique and Smash is better for it.

    Yeahs0
  • captain falcon is known for his racing games. its hard to find a viable moveset based soling on driving a vehicle really fast around a race track.

    Yeahs0
  • Well, I'm adding Captain Falcon to my wish list

    Yeahs0
  • Beans.

    Yeahs0
  • he'll definitely be in the game.

    Yeahs0
