    Phychic types were only weak to bug, which there were like, 2 moves of, neither of them being particularly powerful.

    That and the Special split really nerfed them. Oh well, at least in later generations Hypno gets Trick Room and Ninetales gets Nasty Plot.. But it's not the same.
