Dead Wii U. Save files gone. No Smash 4

3 weeks ago, my Wii U got the red blinking light of death. For no apparent reasons. After many attempts at fixing it, I decided to send it to Nintendo Repairs. and long story short, they can't fix it. I have to either choose between getting another Wii U and forgo my plan to get a PS4, or just go ahead and get the PS4...

    i support both nintendo and sony. with the way the Wii-U is headded though, i sugest you get a PS4 since that seems to be having a longer lifespan than the Wii-U.

    @0² both consoles do have a year left of games though. Rumors have it that the next-gen PlayStation is coming out next year. With Project Scorpio announced and NX being talked about countlessly, I predict next year E3 is gonna be fun. I am definitely considering getting the PS4. Too bad I will miss out on getting TMS:#FE

    honestly i think you should get a PS4 because it will definitely not be gone anytime soon unlike the wii u and the ps4 neo could just be a slim version like they did with ps2 and ps3 also the NX will be out by early next year

    Do you want the 8GB Wii U or the 32GB Wii U? I found the 8GB one on ebay for $139.98 and I've seen some that are at a lower price on the same website.

    The only thing about the 8GB one I found is that it says it doesn't include "GamePad, power supply, AV cable, sensor bar, or any accessories." So as long as you still have your GamePad and the stuff then you should be fine. Look around on ebay though because you might be able to find one cheaper.

    If you're not able to get both systems then I would definatly get the PS4 over Wii U. The odds are that the NX will be backwards compatible with the Wii U so then you could just wait till 2017 for it. Last I heard, Nintendo said it was going to be released in March unless they changed it during E3. I can't remember.

    $139.98 is too much already. I'll see if I can find one that is $100 or less, to compensate for the service Nintendo repairs and other repair shops have failed to achieve over the past couple of days... if not then I'll have to sell all my WiiU games for PS4 games. Can't have these in my house taunting me when I have nothing to play with...>:(

    Also with the NX going back to cartridges form as their physical game copies, I dont know if backward compatibility is possible anymore. At least I still have my 3DS.

    I have made my final decision. I shall get the PS4. I was able to get another Wii U at the same price as the repair cost on eBay but my NNID was unfortunately linked to the broken WiiU 4ever... So I called Nintendo and begged/ranted that I didn't wanted to lose my NNID and all my game data and DLCs. And by God's Miracle, they listened.

    ...but other than that, my PS4 savings are okay, and I am back! Thank you Nintendo! (btw, I left them a suggestion to customer support to send to the dev team that they should NOT do that permanent NNID link for NX. Hope they listen to that also.)
