Advice, blocking attacks.

I find it very useful by just blocking a really strong attack you can punish your opponent with a powerful move or you can grab them. If you see someone charge a smash attack (Palutena's wind forward smash) be right in front of them and block and you can still have a great chance to hit them. Just don't block a shield piercing move or your shield will break.

  • Practicing Perfect Shielding helps, as well. If you use your shield at the exact moment when your opponent executes an attack at you, it'll shield it and will not decrease or break no matter the power of the attack. That includes shield breaker moves.

  • This is true in a lot of cases, like Cloud's Forward Smash or Charizard's Flare Blitz. However, that's one way the powerhouses have one advantage: they deal so much shield damage and shieldstun that you'd be better off avoiding the attack altogether. Ganondorf's Forward Smash, for example, does crazy shield damage and shieldstun that it's near unpunishable except with an OoS option.

  • Just avoid all of bowsers smash attacks. they all do crazy shield damage. Bowser bomb will break it at full. Attempting to perfect shield that sort of thing is not worth it.

  • I did say don't shield against shield piercing attacks, but you can against other strong laggy attacks that will get you the last hit for the kill.
