Don't get me wrong, Thunder Wave is a great move, but it's probably not a good idea to have Ferrothorn use it as it relies on Gyro Ball for most of its damage output and having the opponent paralyzed drastically decreases the damage it can deal.

if you really want to maximize the damage Gyro Ball deals by lowering your speed just use Curse
