Smash Guide: Sonic Advanced Techniques

Welcome to this guide, and today I'll be going over 2 ATs that are exclusive to Sonic. These are techniques that I've tested and been able to use near consistently. Leggo.

  • The first tech is the Spin Shot. This Tech allows Sonic to cancel Side/Down B with a double jump while retaining the momentum of his groung speed (info comes from SmashBoards). To preform it, while partial or fully charging Side/Down B, let go of B and immediately press A, Jump, or the C-Stick. The timing isstrict, however, rolling your thumb calmly over the buttons can make it easier to pull off.

  • This tech has many uses. It can be used for a horizontal recovery tool, can close the gap between you and an opponent, can put you in a position to edge-guard, start combos, and create mindgames. But there are some things to note. This uses your double jump, and the Down B variant can only be done in the air. Other than that, it's a very great AT to keep in mind.

  • This next tech is called a Jump Cancel Grab, a tech that was in Melee only. Sonic is the only character able to do it. To do it, while dashing, do a Side-B, immediately shield cancel it, then grab. This'll increase Sonic's grab range. If preformed fast enough, Sonic will grab w/o his shield coming out. That's really all there is to it. (TBC)

  • Thanks for reading. There are more AT that Sonic has, but I'll wait unltil I can pull them off consistently before making a guide on them. Now you're a little bit more smarter than before you read. If you liked my guide or have some info or constructive criticism, let me know. And with that, KFSmash, out.

Yeah, but these are pretty advanced Sonic techniques. You should also talk about the ISDJ
