Gale Wings isn't the only reason Talonflame is good. Honestly, it's so fast that it doesn't even need Gale Wings to outspeed most opposing Pokémon unless they're priority users or faster than it and not resistant to Flying; in Talonflame's case, Gale Wings is more of a means to an end (its versatility granted by its small but focused movepool and plethora of resistances) than the end itself.
