Match Analysis: Samus vs Wii Fit Trainer

The characters were picked at random this time. As you might've guessed as I don't know ANYTHING about WFT. But Samus I know somewhat. Both are not as bad as people say. So who do you think has the advantage in this match up and why? Lemme know cause I wanna know.

  • Lol, they have EXACT SAME fall speed XD. Being very floaty. Looking at frame data, Wii Fit generally hqs better one, but Samus's Smashes are really fast (Frames 9-11), so it's not that hard to actually land one if those. Besides, her jab is faster than any of WFT's moves. It's actually shieldable between 1st and 2nd hit IIRC though. Also Samus has fast Screw Attack (frame 5) that is faster...

  • than any of WFT's moves. So I'd say even here. Recovery-wise both have very good ones. Being floaty means you can technically cross larger aerial distances. They both have wall jumps and ways to trick/stall during recovery (header/bombs). But I think Samus's is better. While Wii Fit does jump higher, Screw Attack is very safe and fast recovery move while Hoop is not as good. Also, tether.

  • Now, they both have great projectile games, but I think Wii Fit can actually outcamp Samus. She is faster, jumpier and unlike Samus, can charge her Neutral B mid-air. Samus has stronger moves overall (Charge beam is stressful to deal with), but WFT can use Breathing and get needed kill power to beat Samus. Close up, WFT has easier time racking up damage, Samus -KO'ing. Samus has better range here.

  • Survival-wise Samus wins. She's very heavy and has slightly trickier recovery. While WFT has Deep Breathing to boost her up, Samus can try to stall it out with Missiles and charge shot. So, I'd say Samus wins, but not by much.

  • WFT also has one of the lowest crouches. Going under missles, jab, FSmash, Grab, and uncharged shots. Header actually can take the hit from charge shot, blocking it entirely, though it does get launched back and can possibly hit WFT. Still better than taking a charged shot.

  • WFT is surprisingly strong to. I think WFT wins cause she outcamps Samus and has better normals...BUT Samus has a better, if predictable combo game.

  • @Ados, sounds about right.

  • And yet, everyone else I've talked to says that Samus wins. Oh well. I'd say this is still up for debate.
