Metroid Has Gone Downhill!

Metroid Federation Force is a joke. They should cancel that trainwreck of a game and give us a real metroid game!

    *yawn* Man, the Metroid fanbase seems to be really selfish. Just be glad that you are getting anything. F-Zero fans (like myself) have waited for over twice the amount of time you guys have and we don't try and boycott what Nintendo give us. This post just screams "spoilt".

    While Federation Force is probably not going to be completely mindblowing, I'd like to remember y'all that Wind Waker was also initially utterly hated. Then it was released and it turned out to be a masterpiece.

    And Metroid Prime! Don't forget that Metroid fans hated the idea of Prime, and loved the idea Fusion of before they were released! Look how THAT turned out! Now think about WHY Nintendo ISN'T cancelling this one despite fan outcry. Personally, I actually liked the idea of a cooperative multiplayer Metroid game before they even announced this one...

    ...and when they announced it, I actually was pretty glad to see it happening! So what if it may not have the exploration the series is known for? Ever heard of a spin-off? Ever heard of Metroid Prime Pinball? The Metroid series actually already HAS a completely irrelevant spin-off, so why not a slightly MORE relevant one?

    There are, however, two gripes I can understand about FF: 1) The super-deformed chibi character design. I don't mind a more cartoonic approach, but the GF soldiers look really awkward without their mech suits. 2) In MP Hunters, every character had an unique variation on the morph ball dealio. That's a neat feature I do miss in Federation Force.

    @Mikao The only reason I can see for them being super-deformed is so they fit on the screen better. You wouldn't have to render much in comparison to their size. I'm not for it either, but it makes sense especially since this is on a portable.

    @Angel You weren't just stating your opinion about the game, though. It's OK not to like the game, but saying they should outright cancel it is another thing entirely. Also, it's just a spinoff. It was never meant to be the next big thing.
