OEDO EXPRESS#04 空転寺の名の由来 大江戸急行電鉄(通称「江戸急」)には、小田原本線、江ノ島線、多摩線、渋谷線、横須賀線があり、計画では多数の路線があります。 その中で、太平洋戦争前に建設された横須賀線は開業当初は単線でしたが、輸送量増加と特急乗り入れに伴い、複線化されました。 路線の途中に小高い丘があり、列車は必ずここを乗り越えなければなりません。新宿方面行きはこれといったことはないのですが、横須賀方面は当時トンネルを掘るのに多額のお金が必要となったので、切通しなどで費用を抑えました。 しかし、その代償として、勾配区間が多くなった結果、上りの急勾配区間で車輪の空転が頻発し、難所となりました。そして、近くにあるこの画像のお寺は、「空転寺」として、昔の江戸急職員を空転注意と促すようなお寺になりました。 現在では空転が激減しましたが、やはり職員の注意の的です。

    実際、御殿場線に空転寺と呼ばれるお寺があり、今回の空転寺はそれを参考にしました。 また、この投稿は、迷大氏主催の開発記ランキングに参加している投稿です。
