What Y'all Think About Rude Players?

People don't have to be jerks online but they feel like they have to. Yo, this is not the tournament scene so calling people every obscenities in the world doesn't make you an awesome player. All it does it increases your chances of getting reported on. And even if it's the tourney scene, there's no need to be a jerk with people.

  • And to the false reporting, I hope Nintendo realize false reporting is a problem and fix this to at least have real humans to decide if the person that was reported on is actually doing the violation instead of letting the bot doing the regulations. That way, these false reporters can't use the option to get someone ban because they defeated them.

  • Unfortunately you'll never get rid of those kinds of people. Wherever there are people having fun, there are always those who try to leech off of them, normally due to some kind of insecurity. If people are having fun, that isn't at someone else's expense, then that is what matters.

  • Unfortunately, there's always people like that who want to be jerks and control everything, if they could, they could hack SSBU to be only competitive. Close-minded people who ragequit when there are casual rules and deny every person who enters my room? Sorry, but I don't accept that as a friend, espacially when the room is under my host. I respect their choice, but we're just not the same.

  • I don't mind doing 1vs1 fights, I don't mind to watch tips to "get good" , but with the attitude of players lately, it just don't motive me to get better. It's possible to help a player to get better without treating him like inferior. So, let them in their bubble, it's better that way.

  • If you were to actually meet them in person, bet you they won't say nothing then.

  • I just ultimately don't let it bother me, I play Smash for fun, why would I let a player damage that experience for me? Whenever a person says I suck or whatever, I just shrug it off, mostly because it's salt and all of that. The tournament scene, actually, frowns on using obscenities and the like because it just shows immaturity and bad sportsmanship.

  • but it's not only the competitive people, it's also the other side of the spectrum as well. I can't tell you how many times I've been told, "I'm not playing the game right" because I'm a competitive player. So what if I don't like items at certain times? So what if I don't appreciate stage hazards? Is that any reason to demean me and harass me? No, I don't think so. This talk of "an only . . .

  • . . . competitive SSBU" is complete horse raddish. Why would competitive players eliminate half of Smash? That doesn't make any sense to me, for as many close minded "competitive players" there are, there are just as many close minded "casual players".

  • @ Firebolt I agree with ya 100%. No one should belittle anyone because they are not competitive enough or force anyone to play with items on. Personally, the biggest thing I like about Super Smash Bros. is that you can play it casually or play it competitively similar with all fighting games, albeit a little more with Super Smash Bros. than everything else.

  • @ Firebolt Actually, you're right, I sometimes have the tendancy to put all competitives in the same boat because of how many bad sportmanship attitudes I see, but I know there are exceptions, right? I mean, just because someone is competitive doesn't mean he have to be jerky.

  • And just because someone is casual doesn't mean he have to whine, I actually enjoy watching competitive stuff, it's just how the community can be so impulsive...
