If your character has ever been buffed, which buff do you feel was necessary?

Link has had plenty of buffs, from his grab range to his combo throw to his kill setups. Which I'm glad he got! But to me, his buff to Forward Air just felt like a very necessary thing. What about you?

  • ^Up Smash, F-air, and D-air were slightly buffed in updates.

  • PAC-MAN got buffed (smash attacks and bair KO slightly earlier), but I don't think it was in the right areas.

  • @Sammy those Samus buffs were way overdue, nice to see her get some love finally. @Zjanitor I know it's good that Blaster's endlag got buffed, but then there's Falco over here who's gotta be all fly and slow when putting his up. @Quincy I can definitely concur with that. Although my favorite thing on him is Reverse Warlock armor. @Filip Quincy answered that nicely. @Tait like his grab, right?

  • Do getting buffs from a past game count because Sonic's Increased Killing power because while his Bair and F-Smash could kill in Brawl it was at a very high percent

  • If it's a buff going from Brawl to Sm4sh, then that counts. My favorite Link buff coming INTO the game is his ability to walk with his Hylian Shield up, though.

  • Ok good because this was a needed buff for Sonic from Brawl to Sm4sh since in Brawl Sonic couldn't kill until around 160%

  • This is the face Of a Character Who's Really Angry Because It's been ignored in every single patch, for all the times the balance team had working on the game they did nothing to help the poor little Puff. they have to put an end to jigglypuffs pain and Suffering Now!

  • Look at this, how did Someone not look at how terrible of a custom this was during The patching phases and fix it the first chance they got? I know customs are illegal and all but this Could be good if they knew the problems with it and actually did something to make it better.

  • Monado Art buffs were absolutely necessary in version 1.0.4 in my opinion. I never purchased the 3DS version so I cannot even imagine how much more difficult Shulk was to play as back then. Wii Fit Trainer had a really inconsistent grab before a certain patch so I would say it was a very welcome change when it was tweaked to connect more consistently.

  • Robin's down throw was a very good buff. It allows for more combos. Down throw to up air at 80-100% is a kill confirm I think.

  • @Damongant2 seems your mains were either hardcore neglected or are fine as is. Lol. @krossjosh I loved Shulk's Monado Arts buff. It almost DEFINES how to play the character now. I never noticed WFT's buffs though (due to the obscurity of the character). @Thoron I'm glad to see Robin has a reason to grab, really. Lol.

  • I think I saw a video about Wii Fit Trainer's grab awhile ago. Almost every character could crouch and it would whiff. I'm pretty sure before that patch I had trouble grabbing with Wii Fit Trainer. Robin was mentioned and that reminded me of something. Robin's Up B had FAR less horizontal momentum initially. Of course the change to Robin's Down Throw is amazing but Elwind NEEDED that buff.

  • Then I suppose I should've crouched more often against her/him, because I don't remember that at all. Lol. And yea, Robin's Elwind kind of felt like Ike's Aether in terms of horizontal movement. It was crazy.

  • Yeah "obscure" describes Wii Fit Trainer to the letter. People would unintentionally avoid getting grabbed back then. Also Ike's Aether is actually a pretty accurate comparison to pre-patch Elwind. It was a bit higher vertically and traveled a bit farther horizontally but it was still TERRIBLE for recovering. Honestly I forgot just how easy it was to keep Robin off-stage back then.

  • My 3DS version of Smash is still at 1.0.0 because AlphaSapphire took too much space on my SD card to update it. I go back to it every now and then and it's weird because we're all so used to certain things by now, like Link's Hylian Shield blocking Fox and Falco's lasers, or Villager's Pocket not being able to capture the souls of his victims. Lol.
