Do you have mains that you haven't revealed to a rival or friend that you secretly been working on?

Link and Toonlink are my normal mains. I do have 10. However, one is close to my Link skill level.

  • No I haven't, that's not really useful actually to hide mains to your rivals or friends. Indeed, you'll take them by surprise for the first fights with your secret main, but if your opponent is better than you, I think he would be able to adapt his playstyle to win. If your level with the secret main is far better than your actual one, there is no advantages to hide it either except in tournament.

  • Why do you have a secret main?

  • Yeah, the "surprise" effect, but I think that against a good player, it can't work forever because after a certain time, he'll probably learn the match up. But a few fights is enough during a tournament, so that could be useful in that case.

  • My friend Randy doesn't know that I have a pocket Greninja. Mostly because I don't play him in our matches.

  • I told my friends that I main Little Mac, Donkey Kong, and Bowser. I've actually been working with Mario for a couple weeks now, so he's my best main.

  • If a character I play takes anyone by surprise it's because of the following reasons. 1: They rarely see that character in action 2: I tend to use a lot of characters 3: A combination of 1 and 2. I don't intentionally hide the characters I play.
