    That depends on what it is. If it's a home console/handheld hybrid of some sort, I don't think they'll end up in that situation. For better or for worse, I think Nintendo's trying to create something brand new and very different that won't compete directly with Sony and Microsoft.

    no matter how many consoles they sell, they wont catch up with the ginger playsation man. Plus, Sony has already done a similar thing with the Vita and Ps4; being that you can have cross saves and cross games.

    That's true, but what if NX is one machine that can act as both a handheld and a home console? There are still some unexplored possibilities that fit under that "hybrid" category. I agree with the first part of your comment. I don't think NX (whatever it is) will sell as well as the PS4, but I don't really think it needs to. Even a mild success would be much better than the Wii U's situation.

    Also man, thanks for participating in this debate. Its actually nice to talk about Nitendo compared to other companys. Just saying that whatever Nitendo has planned might have PC grade specs.

    Its true that there are unexplored ares in the "hybrid" systems, but what is Nitendo going to do with there 3Ds market that already exists? Are they going to shove it off the 3Ds thrown? I also heard that Nitendo is trying to appeal to the "hardcore" gamers, who mostly floc around the PC side of things; but how are they going to do that with the limited capabilities of a handheld(whats ur oppinion

    The 3DS is already over five years old, so I won't be surprised if it fades away in 2017. If NX is a pure hybrid, it will probably attract Nintendo's handheld audience and draw in some other gamers who value its TV compatibility. That's just one option out of many, though.     ...power might not be a huge issue. The Wii U is just a home console, so it's competing directly against the PS4 and XB1 (and failing). Nintendo's approach may be different next time.

    Yes the 3Ds is 5 years old, but what about the New 3Ds users? since the New 3Ds was just recently released, are they really just goin to abandon it that early? When the GBA died, Nitendo included backwards compatibility on the Ds and Ds lite. Do you think that might happen with the Nx and the 3Ds? Also since this convo has no other people, are u willing to move to a "Discussion" if i open it?

    Nevermind about mmoving this convo, this E3 thing does not support Dicussions, so yeh.... So, do you think Nitendo will try to apeal to the PC market with the NX? After all, they did state that the NX might have state of the art chips, which makes me believe they might be using a 1080 graphics card from Nvidia. If they are, then the games would be truely graphically nice.
