The new Zelda needs to get rid of hand-holding and pay homage to the original Zelda for NES. It was as if the overworld itself was a puzzle and exploration was the main theme. But at the same time, story might have to be sacrificed if most of the game was accessible from any direction. Hopefully, there can be some sort of balance.

  • What do you mean by hand holding?

  • Like how the game always tells you what your next course of action should be (Navi, Fi etc.). I just wanna be able to connect the dots and plan my routes from there.

  • Unless I'm mistaken all they did was remind you of your destination. The only time I really felt that the game was holding my hand was the dowsing in Skyward Sword and the Shiekah stones. Hand holding in Zelda won't become a problem with me unless it starts telling me how to solve the puzzle when I'm trying to solve the puzzle.
