@Quincy Mario's is actually really good due to his amazing air speed and Super Jump Punch being hard to mess with. Mario can recover from the blastzone.

Losing a kill confirm is a pretty big deal. Anyway, it doesn't really matter what we think. Numbers don't lie. The results speak for themselves. Literally every top player agrees that Mario is top 10 in the game. A Mario took a major tournament, which Luigi has never done, and has beaten the best player in the world, Zero. Zero has never lost to a Luigi, and probably won't anytime soon.

Adding my two cents here. The tier and event hub does say that Mario is way above Luigi. That said, I like Luigi more as a character, but as a fighter, I prefer Mario.

Eventhubs tier lists should NEVER be used as a competitive standard. Mario is better than Luigi. But not by a huge margin. Luigi is still considered a pretty solid high tier with good results. However, Mario has been seen a top 15 character since very early in the metagame, and with many of the top tiers getting nerfed in the course of the game's lifetime, many agree to him being top 5.

Luigi's down B does damage, his side B does more damage and he jumps higher.

@FireBullet Mr. ConCon (Considered the best Luigi main) did take a set off ZeRo before. Even though Luigi did get nerfed, so did Sheik. Maybe we will see a Luigi beat ZeRo in a match one day.

@Sebastion Was this a friendly? Ally's Mario actually took the tournament itself over Zero, being the 2nd to ever do that. I mean, even SeagullJoe's Sonic has taken a set once from Zero, and that was in tournament. The point is, I think you know what I meant when I said Zero never lost to a Luigi... Anyway, Zero is actually on a losing streak right now, so anything can happen.

@Quincy You guys are still missing my point. Everyone drops sets. Everyone. Even Zero, more often then you think. But Ally, a Mario player, actually not only beat Zero in terms of a set, but he actually won the whole tournament over Zero, which nobody had done before other then Nairo's ZSS at MLG. A Mario did that. Luigis haven't accomplished a fraction of what Marios have. That's my point.

well better speed, combo ability, versatile, long range weapons, unique specials amazing for gimping, superior frame data, a better kill throw, vastly superior ariel mobility, safer smashes, better traction, a safer recovery, better smash attacks, fire balls to snipe with, and a snazzy hat tip taunt. sorry Luigi but youll always be 2nd.

Either way, the current tier still shows Mario in the top 10.

Wow, I just caught the news of the tournament that just ended a little while ago, Smash 'N' Splash 2, and apparently Ally has once again beaten Zero with Mario. Amazing. I guess this shows that GOML wasn't a fluke. So mad I didn't see it live. xD

I'd say Mario is easier to play as, but their throws are almost exactly the same and Luigi is better at recovery.
