I know everyone has been talking about this in the Splatoon Community, but I just wanna let you know how badly we want it Nintendo. Make the Octolings playable! Either put it in the current game, or the sequel. Just give it to us so we don't have to do uhh y'know what. We want it soooo badly.

For all we know, it might be sequel material, along with modes like there are in Team Fortress 2 or Overwatch. The Octolings must move an Octoweapon towards Inkopolis, and the Inklings must stop them. That sort of stuff.

Huh, well I just posted this as a "message" to Nintendo that we wanted it when we first saw someone play as one. We were super eager to get to play as one. Someday, I'm sure they'll actually think really hard about what to do with this situation.

That idea kinda feels like campaign mode all over again to get to play as an octoling when you finished stopping the weapon.
