It's like WW and SS had a baby. And that baby is one of those protegy babies with an IQ of 192, a photographic memory, and the ability to put together a computer in its sleep.

  • Guys, careful... I see a lot of people setting expectations way to high for BotW. I've never been more excited for a game before, but careful with the comparisons, we haven't even played this yet. @Blake The art style looks extremely similar to SotC...

  • Considering I was telling myself that I wouldn't get hyped just a few days ago, I maybe should listen to my past self. ... Or I could go ahead and set my expectations sky-high. This is Nintendo's biggest project, like, ever, after all. But I do see your point.

    Yeahs1
  • I think I'll take a break from watching it there. It almost seems like they're going a bit overboard with the shrines. There's only 100 of them, and I don't think it would be a good idea to see four more right now... Also, I'm glad Bill noted that they removed all towns and most NPCs just for the E3 demo. I can't wait to also explore those come March.

    Yeahs3
  • Come on, you know me; I always get excited. Nothing new here. =P

    Yeahs1
  • Spring Break looks to be awesome.

    Yeahs1
  • Spring Break? March is an important month to me, as it happens to be the month I was born in... I bet you can guess what I'll be spending my birthday doing. And my Spring Break. But even with as much hype as there is, the game really is a long ways off... But tomorrow is only a day away. I hope they finally show us what those towers are then.

    Yeahs1
  • Well, that was just the first thing that occurs around that time that popped into my head. That's also when I'm most likely to have time to really play.

    Yeahs1
  • Do you guys happen to have any thoughts or theories on the game timeline-wise yet? Far after ST seems like the obvious choice, considering the Koroks and Master Sword, but the obvious choice isn't always the most logical.

    Yeahs0
  • I've been thinking either between SS and MC, or perhaps sometime after TP and FSA. I'm somewhat reluctant to think too hard about timeline placement though; I did that once around the time that Nintendo established the timeline and I feel that I ruined my experience of the individual games for a short time.

    Yeahs0
  • I have a four possible ideas. The first is a sequel to Skyward Sword. In the past the evidence for this was abundant, less so now but I think the theory is still possible. The second is it takes place millennium after Twilight Princess. The third is it occurs millennium after Zelda 1/2. The last is that it's a reinhabited Hyrule after Wind Waker, but not a sequel to Spirit Tracks.

    Yeahs0
  • I don't buy the Spirit Tracks idea for multiple reasons, first that Master Sword was washed away with the old Hyrule, so how would it be in new Hyrule? Second, how would Ganon be the main villain? Third, where are the trains? Fourth, the geography of Spirit Tracks and Breath of the Wild are conflicting.

    Yeahs0
  • But the geography of WW and the geography of BotW allign almost perfectly. Really, the Koroks are the only thing thing it strongly to WW. After SS would seem like a stretch to me, ancient ruins, a weathered Master Sword, and technology seems to imply distant, distant future. And the presence of Koroks rule out that option all but entirely. Ganon has died and come back so many times that

    Yeahs0
  • It makes any theory based off of his presence won't really work. But the WW theory doesn't explain the MS's location and appearance. So far after FSA or ZII seem most likely. Even though we're all but spitballing here, heh.

    Yeahs0
  • Blake, the geography of Wind Waker is a giant ocean. BotW Hyrule is not a giant ocean. :P Yeah, thanks to Nintendo masking all story spoilers except the fact that Ganon is a thing pretty much makes this more speculation than educated theorizing...

    Yeahs3
  • Traverse, hence the emphasis on rock climbing. Also, the Koroks hold ties to the Great Deku Tree, that hopes to unite the land masses by trees. The same Koroks that are already found in the game after five minutes of gameplay. WW also played the theme of discovering Hyrule, which makes the building and ruins shown seem rather similar to the world shown in WW Hyrule.

    Yeahs0
  • Well, five minutes would likely be a relative amount of time if there aren't that many in the starting area.

    Yeahs0
  • Notifications in case you come back. I'm sure you've already seen what i think about timeline placement, so I'll just keep my mouth shut for now. Last comment. See you later!
