Why do people treat Dr. Mario, Dark Pit and Lucina like they're costumes?

    While I'm no expert on Lucina, I do know that her sword has the same amount of power throughout. Marth's is much stronger at the tip. This suggests to me that all of Lucina's attacks are slightly stronger than Marth's non-tip attacks.

    As for Dark Pit, the only thing I can think of right now is the launch angle of the default side special being different. It can make quite a difference depending on the stage.

    ^Plz, as a Kid Icarus fan, I know they could've done tons with dark pit to make him different from pit, so many opportunities were wasted with that. Dark pit never had to be a clone of pit in smash, but they made him that way.

    Actually, Dark Pit's arrows also do more damage, his side tilt has less launch power than Pit's and his final smash is different.

    His final smash is a copy paste of the light arrow, the arrow difference between them is around 1% or so......... And the side tilt having less launch power is pointless. I'd rather have his staff as a neutral b, maybe a few brawl pit moves like how his up b worked in brawl, and there are enough weapons in Kid Icarus Uprising for him to be able to have a completely different set than Pit.

    Interesting fact, the three clone characters were at one supposed to alternative costumes of the originals, but got moved to be their own character, which also explains their placing in the roaster. ( And Alph was supposed to be his character along with the other clones, but stuck as a alternative costume for Olimar. )

    Well, I mean, I can get the difference for Lucina being reasonable, and Dr. Mario was in Melee so I don't even look at that, but there was literally no reason for dark pit being a clone due to how many things he can do in Kid Icarus, like mid air tackles or using cannons and clubs.

    And instead of normal pikmin that Olimar uses, Alph was meant to use Rock Pikmin, to differ him from Olimar.

    Dark Pit is basically edgy Pit. Dr. Mario plays different than Mario in a lot of ways and has different moves than Mario, which could theoretically make him better with certain matchups. Lucina, on the other hand, is lazy Marth/counterpick Marth. Lucina doesn't require tippered attacks, making her handier for opponents that just don't let you space. Otherwise, she's just Marth with less skill.

    Ryan, you can't get tips ALL the time. Lucina does better up close than Marth, and just because Marth has one thing that Lucina lacks doesn't mean he's automatically better. Lucina has more launch power than Marth most of the time anyway because Marth's non tips are weaker than all of Lucina's hits.
