Link OP

So we get a patch for Bayo yet link still has pretty much no recovery. Lost a sudden death when a link shot an arrow and immediately went into spin attack. But, yeah, Bayonetta is the problem. 🙄

  • Sounds like it I know, but we all know it's not.

  • We're...talking about the same character, right? Both statements are pretty incorrect...his recovery is decent but he is far from overpowered.

  • Last I checked, Link was 32 on the tier list. I think it's a personal problem.

  • Maybe OP is the wrong word. Annoying might be better. As for recovery, the situation in the original post did happen. Firing off an arrow point blank and whiffing, immediately able to special. Sounds like better than decent recovery to me.

  • ??? wait are you saying Link is over powered or underpowered? the title is Link is OP but first thing you say about him is his recovery is bad. and than you talk about sudden death which doesn't even matter since in competitive play we don't even play out sudden death. just go based on who had less percent.

  • Link is OP because "pretty much no recovery"? You realized what you mean is he's UP, Underpowered. Unless you mixed up words

  • @Kyle which list is that? He's 42 on the only one I've seen. Link having too much recovery is something I never thought I'd hear...but wat you're complaining about is the endlag of Hero's Bow, not Spin Attack's recovery.

  • @Daniel The first one that comes up when you search Smash Bros tier list. Looks like he's 31 now.

  • @Kyle is it Eventhubs? If it is, do not trust them.

  • This isn't a competitive thread. I mean he doesn't have any recovery after performing a move (at least in this scenario he didn't). I hold my own usually but Link is a struggle for me due to these scenarios.

  • @Daniel and Kyle, at the moment their is no confirmed tier list and for Link OP be more specific plz

  • Eh, it doesn't matter to me. Tier makes no difference in who I pick. I just look it up for moments like this. :P

  • For future reference, that is called endlag. Recovery is getting back to the stage when you've been knocked off. And yes...it's a personal problem if it's a character like Link who has pretty moderate frame data, but nothing glorious.

  • @Shadow even if it is outdated, Link has received little between then and now, and hasn't won anything major. He's still in the 42 range. @Kyle well Eventhubs isn't even a list, it's based on popular votes. Ganondorf could be #1 on there with enough popularity.

  • Or there was no waiting period. I dunno I'm an SF guy so recovery for me, higher is bad meaning it takes longer to recover. I'm not a competitive Smash player by any means but this just killed me (literally). To be able to pull off two specials like that seems a tad unbalanced. It's also my opinion that EventHubs tiers (with SF at least) are off.

  • Just out of curiosity, what are others based off of?

  • But you were in Sudden Death...just about everything is a kill move in Sudden Death.

  • Well closing this thread. Didn't expect such pretentious replies.

  • Well, real tier lists are based off of four things: tournament results, tournament representation, matchups and frame data.
