2=Basic Math. 2X=Algebra, which is apparently more fun (or less fun, I can't even remember XP). 2=/=2X unless X is 1. But for the sake of my sanity we're going to assume that X is anything but 1. In the end, water is still wet. Bree, Batman's got more important things to do than sit around guarding your comments all day. He's gotta, like, punch people and... stuff.

But isn't Algebra math? It's not a separate subject. It's just a lesson IN math. So it's just 2. Get Cap to guard your posts, Bree. *Wonk wonk* *Nudge nudge*

It's like comparing Mensa members' IQs to the human race's IQs. They're higher on average, but because Mensa members are also members of the human race, the human race is superior overall. The average enjoyment of Algebra is greater than the average enjoyment of Math, but the total enjoyment of Math is greater than the total enjoyment of Algebra. It's simple Math, guys.

Is {2, 3, 7, 13, 35, 45} greater than, equal to, or less than {13, 35, 45}? 105>93, but 17.5<31 More simple math. Math is great.

Algebra is more like an application of or expansion on basic math. It's math with that X variable, quite literally. Mathematics had to exist before algebra. Blake, that makes sense... I think. I'm not sure what conclusion you just reached, but I can tell it makes sense.

All I got out of what Blae said was.... ????? XD Nuh! Batman will help me. We're friends. XP Naaaahhhhhh, I got Cap already guarding my brownies. :P And guess who got a cut on her forehead today that will most likely scar?

I'd say Algebra is a different way of looking at basic math. For example, the statements 100 devided by 10 = ____ and the statement 100/10 = n are the same statements, one written algebraically and the other mathematically. The benefits of using Algebra are it allows much more complex problems to be solved, like quadratic equations. 2x^2+4x+16 is not possible to solve using basic math.

Bree, you and Batman are "just friends"? Don't think for a second that he isn't jealous of you and Cap. He'll probably battle Steve for your heart soon... Lemme know when so I can watch. And a scar? Awesome! You'll look much cooler as a short-ish long-haired girl with a huge scar. How'd you get it, a street fight? Simon, but then it still has problems that basic math can't solve. That's why

I consider it an expansion. If algebra can solve an equation that basic math can't, then algebra goes beyond basic math. And nobody is allowed to use the word "quadratic" on one of my posts. I'll get PTSD.

You know, I'm actually curious to know who would win that fight... Cap or Batman. XD Lol! It's not going to be a 'huge' scar. Just a small one shaped like a hook in the middle of my forehead. XP To me, algebra is just more fun than basic math and it makes more sense to my brain. Go figure. :P

And yeah, I got it in a street fight. You should see the other guy. XD Lol! No, I really got it from a kid wacking my in the head with his hook or weight on his fishing line... >_<

I scar? Cool! I haven't received a scar yet. Just bites from a "larger mosquito." Ooooooo. Captain America Vs. Batman! Who will win?

You'll get PTSD from the term quadratic? Interesting. What does the term logarithm do? Slope? Pythagorean Theorim? Imaginary numbers? Coordinate plane? Conic sections? Matrices? Functions? Or what about vectors?

@Bree: Batman drives a tank. Cap drives a Beetle. One of them has a distinct advantage. Darn, I hoped you'd look like a mobster. Just a hook? Still sounds painful... @Simon: C'mon, Pythagorean Theorem and logarithms are child's play. Imaginary Numbers are pretty simple too... But quadratic equations are the single most brutal thing I've ever done in school. I don't like thinking about them.

@SpaceMeow: I don't know much about crafting potions, but I know you can get some pretty cool ones for free from the Troupple King. He's half-trout, half-apple royalty. And the name is pronounced like "mouthful". All hail the Troupple King! The king of fish and fruit! Long may his stem grow!
