I have a dark theory to share about this game. Your character-the person you play as-you, are a slave to the islanders. Evidence is in the comments.

The first point of this theory is that NONE of the islanders can do ANYTHING without your help or advice, leading me to think that they do this because you do not have a choice, because yoi are their slave.

Next, you don't seem to have much authority over your island or even the islanders. Leading me to think everyone else has more power than you. But they aren't gods, so you must be a slave.
