Do you think that Nintendo have a shot to compete with Sony and Microsoft when the NX is released?

Yes, they have a shot. I know that Zelda Breath of the Wild is just one game. But that game really has everyone attention! Now I think everyone wants to see what else Nintendo have. If people like what games that the NX have, then it might be enough to challenge the other two consoles.

  • Nintendo thinks that they can just survive off content instead of Console power. As console gamers we're fickle and always want more power and better graphics even if graphics don't matter. So I don't think Nintendo can compete with this mentality but they may survive atleast.

  • Of course. Nintendo knows how to sell stuff. They have a history of outselling their competitors. But they made a couple of mistakes on the Wii U. If they didn't have the 3DS topping the charts, it could've been bad. Now as long as they've learned their lesson, they can be back on top in no time.

  • Nintendo learn from those mistakes so far. That why the NX was delayed until March. Nintendo President isn't messing around. I also think that the NX is going to be powerful. I don't know it going to be more than Scorpio and Neo but it could stronger than ps4. I really encourage you to watch Super Metal Dave 64 on YouTube.

  • Well, Nintendo isn't really in competition with the others, but I think they won't be good enough to do so. I mean, their consoles are really powerful, comparing to Nintendo ones, and the fact that the NX will be released before their new consoles, is at their advantage. A lot of gamers also prefer the games on these consoles.

  • With their current line of games? No. They don't even have much content besides some big sellers. They need more longer lasting IPs on their console system to stay afloat. The 3DS is doing fine because the other companies havent decided to pull the rug from underneath. Remember how original 3ds was so underpowered compared to the original psp.

  • Well I depends If the Nintendo NX is more affordable than the other two. Then all bets are off. I know the first is going to be there. If 3rd party is there they be in good shape. Besides lot of 3rd party developers love what there seeing on the NX.

  • I highly doubt the NX will be able to compete with ps4 or Xbox one at all. Currently Xbox and Playstation are leading and i don't think Nintendo can get back up there. I think Nintendo should stop making anymore consoles and just make games just like Sega is doing.

  • Nintendo is way to big for software company! How can Nintendo win E3 with one game? That tell me how relevant they still are.

  • When the NX is released it would be on par with the PS4 and XBOX1 in terms of hardware but it'll run at 60 frames per second so yeah it'll be on par with the PS4 neo and XBOX1.5 because they're just upgraded models but they have to play the games made for the original PS4 and XBOX1 consoles.

  • Hey Alex do you look at Super Metal Dave 64 on YouTube? If you don't I think you should. He is down to earth and he really knows a lot what the NX could be like.

  • Nintendo has never cared about making the biggest, most powerful console. Their philosophy is to make the most innovative gameplay they can at the most affordable price possible. Cutting down on power is on purpose, something people don't seem to get. And if Sony and Microsoft keep buffing up only the same things over and over, they will undoubtedly fail.

  • Sony and Microsoft could of waited until next year or 2 to have an upgrade console. I think Nintendo may have spook them a little.

  • lets not talk about winning e3 with one game. One game doesn't keep customer loyalty for long. NX is still just a name, what it can do is up for debate still. The upgraded versions of the ps4 and xbox one might make matters worse as they may be harder to compete with. I've been with Nintendo since Super Nintendo, but the NX needs more backing it than just the main IPs (mario, LoZ, etcHo...

  • *etc.) hopefully companies give the NX a chance to prove itself and not turn the other cheek like they did with the Wii and (somewhat) the Wii U.

  • 3rd party developers seems to like the NX too. That's a good sign. Oh yeah I been in gaming since the Super Nintendo first came out too.

  • Red Dead and GTA Take two are interested in the NX. Nintendo already have Ubisoft Capcom and Namco on board. I'm sure that Square Enix is on board too.

  • Seems like a good way to push more mature games (not exactly M or A rated, just higher rated ones than usual). I love to see the NX be a part of the mulitplatform games. I wonder how long will they keep it's specs a secret.
