    Because mother 3 was supposed to be released on n64 before smash64, but it didnt happen. The project was finally aborted.

    Oh,ok. Sakurai didnt have enough time to put him in the first version of this game. The other "clones" like Lucina and Dr. Mario were "completed" before Lucas was.
