What exactly do people mean when they say a character got "nerfed."

    They were made worse in some way. Example: PAC-MAN's spaceship doing 9% instead of 11%.

    a character's statistics has been downgraded. the other way around is what we call "buffed".

    Its pretty much the opposite of buff. Its when a characters gets affected after patches in a very negative way.
