#1 Debate: Are fanfics good?

In my opinion fanfics are a waste of time (please don't hate :-< ) People spend lots of time on them and yet only 5% get published. I mean when I go into a book store I see so many minecraft fanfics. That's my opinion, please leave yours in the comments.

    Fanfics can be good to write and read epic stories and crossovers, as long as you avoid the....weird part.

    I'm sure theres good ones somewhere... But for the most part its usually a self insert with the main characters or some shipping spree with every grammatical and spelling error possible.
