Sonic!!! 2D or 3D and why?

So im pretty sure that the sonic fanbase has been fighting about this for years! But I want know on Mii-Verse, what you think?

    I'm partial to both. I think I'm gonna say 3D though since the 3D Sonics were the ones I got the most invested in. I think Sonic has even more potential in 3D space than what we've already seen.

    I prefer 3D Sonic, mostly because I was never good at the 2D games and I grew up with Adventure 2.

    Don't worry, 2D sonic is amazing but at the moment there hasn't been an outstanding 2D games compaired to 3D! Hopefully we get a good 2D game soon.

    This is one of the reasons I like Sonic Generations. It has a mix of both. The game has its fair share of issues but I found it enjoyable.

    Why not both? I love me some Sonic 2 and Rush, but I also love me some Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Adventure 2. I'd say I'm more partial to the 3D ones, but I love them both. BTW, SA2B is my favorite game. Ever. Period.

    I'm a huge fan of both. Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic 2 are my favorite Sonic games, but I love Adventure 2, Generations, Colors, and Heroes almost as much.

    @Pikle I literaly have the exact same favs but I have Sonic 3 and knuckles in there and Unleaded is my favorite just ahead of Sa2! The rest is the same!

    I like both types. Sonic Generations, Colors, Unleashed, and Lost Worlds are good examples of blending both types of gameplay (2D and 3D) together to please both fans of the franchise. I think the Sonic Team and Sega should take Sonic through this route and I think this is where they be a little more successful at while doing some tweaks to the formula (i.e. adding new moves).     ...go through a Super Mario 3D World route (i.e. Able to include all 4 players all on one screen or at least 2 players). But that means they have to change the point of view to remedy the commendation of two to four players and that would be problematic.

    I like both, 2D and 3D, but if I had to pick one, it'd be 3D. My reason is just, I like the 3D games better. Colours, Generations, Black Knight, Unleashed, 06, Shadow the Hedgehog, etc.
