    It probably would've died like every other CD add-on/companion system just like the SEGA CD, N64 DD, and others. The difference here being that Sony likely would have never entered the hardware industry after seeing their system fail. This would've made a HUGE difference, as without the sheer dominance of the PS2, SEGA's Dreamcast likely would've been a modest success.

    So if that system actually saw the light of day, I think SEGA would actually still be in the console business as an indirect result. I don't know if I'd prefer that or not; on the one hand we'd probably have more Jet Set Radio, Golden Axe, NiGHTS, etc, but on the other hand we wouldn't have Sly Cooper, Ratchet, Jak, or inFamous. I feel really mixed about which would be preferable.
