The Zelda timeline Smash Bros takes place in.

Considering that Hyrule Warriors take place in a different dimension (Most likely to not mess up the Zelda timeline) I think Smash Bros. takes place in the Hyrule Warriors timeline, like I said, most likely not to mess up the Zelda timeline.

    Odd that in Melee the LoZ cast is based on OoT while Brawl & 4 is more on Twilight Princess. But it would be a great change that LoZ reps should go for a mix of Hyrule Warriors attire.
