Best way to learn new characters

Hello, I'm fairly new to the smash community... what's the best/fastest way to learn a new character? Should I keep losing against level 9 CPUs untill I improve or should I gradually work my way up? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

    to learn new characters I always start at lvl 5 to 7 then work my way up maybe it will work for you

    try to play as the whole roster until you find one that is your play style or try to learn characters you like from other nintendo games

    use training mode to get used to all the characters moveset,and try to find one you like.then experiment against low level cpus.then slowly increase the difficulty.good luck!
