Add/Remove/Replace 3 Characters

This is kind of an overused topic, but what characters would you add, remove, and replace in the next Smash game (well, if there is one)? Give a reason for each decision, and it would be cool if you could think of a potential moveset for new characters.

  • *Sees the word 'why'* Muahahaha. You asked for it. -Remove Lucina. He adds nothing, her being Marth clone doesn't even make sense. Sure she's Marth's far descendant and wields the same weapon, but she knows almost nothing about him even though she took his name (as proven by some support conversations in Awakening) and it's very unlikely she'd fight exactky like her far ancestor.

  • *She, not he XD Also, Robin already represents Awakening. And if someone doesn't like Marth's tippers, I think it wouldn't be hard to find one fun character out of other 54. -Remove/replace Dark Pit with Bandana Dee. Like Lucina, he also feels unnecessary. Palutena would suffice as Uprising newcomer. However, unlike Lucina, he does have few different moves (even though they are variations) and

As for Bandana Dee, I think Kirby franchise (along Donkey Kong, Metroid and few others) should get a newcomer. It's one of Nintendo's biggest franchises. And Dandana Dee is prevalent in those games. He was even playable alongside, guess who? Kirby, Meta Kinght and Dedede, all in Smash.

  • We don't have any spear/lance fighter yet either. And some of my less wanted characters could use one too. But bck to Bandana. He mainly uses it as a weapon of choice. 2 of his specials would include him throwing or whirling his spear like helicopter to recover. His side special could utilise either Beam staff (reference to Waddle Doo with Beam ability) or Parasol Twirl (would be kind of a reflect

Strong downward punch that creates strong shockwaves and is a powerful meteor in mid-air. -Add Rayman. I'm kinda biased here probably. However, I think Rayman has various reasons to appear in Smash. He has a trophy in Sm4sh, during the ballot Ubisoft said they would gladly...

  • ...see him in the games. He has long history with Nintendo, he's an important part of Gaming. Besides, Rayman's moveset is so easy to make in Smash. Basically take his attacks from Origins/Legends and you have like 75% of his moveset done. For specials. Neutral would be energy blasts from Rayman 2. He could shoot two consecutively or charge a stronger one. Side has Rayman kick out a plum, which...

First, a purple Lum appears before Rayman, he shoots a fist at it and flings himself upwards. Then his signature haircopter activates, slowing down his fall and improving his horizontal recovery. Down Special would utilise...

Each would be usable once, losing a stock restores the first one used. They have varying durations (blue -15 seconds, yellow -only 4) and each modifies Rayman's Neurtal Special and few other things. In short: Green make Rayman a little faster...

  • ...lighter and weaker damage/knockback wise. B now shoots shrinking tornadoes. Red -makes all attacks much stronger, but laggier. Also, he falls slighty faster and B is now slower, but much stronger. Blue -enables tether grabs via lockjaws, making grab range much bigger. All throws are stronger, which make them better for KO, but worse for combos. B is now multi-hit and stun for split second.

  • Orange -makes him much slower and heavier, but B is now a powerful and quite fast remote-controlled missile. Yellow -falls much slower, also can indefinitely fly by holding jump button. B shots now visibly arc up. I warned you. ;P

  • Bayonetta for Lloyd Lucario for Wolf Corrin for Ephraim or Hector

  • If I could change this game's roster I'd remove Wii Fit, Corrin, and Roy for Isaac (Golden Sun), Wolf, and Ray 01 (Custom Robo). If I could replace a clone for another, I'd also remove Lucina and replace her with another Pikmin Captain (Brittany or Charlie) that would use Rock and Pink Pikmin instead of White and Purple Pikmin.

  • But since you said it's for the next game, I'd refrain from removing anyone. People have mained these characters and removing any of them is just absurd. It's the same deal as when Wolf, Ice Climbers and Lucas weren't included in the initial release of SSB4. It's really unfortunate when people have to lose their main for no reason (in Wolf's case) or a dumb reason (in Ice Climber's case).

  • Wow! I didn't expect so many people to comment. There's a lot of hate here for Bayo and Lucina. I'm guessing that Lucina won't come back- after all, Sakurai didn't want any more FE characters in this game, and all the anger over her being a clone. Honestly, I don't know why Roy came back- his game wasn't even released outside of Japan! (I think)

  • Bayo- well, everyone hates her. First she was OP, then she was nerfed, and now everyone's complaining about her not being appropriate for an E10+ rated game, and saying that she didn't even win the Smash Ballot. I'm not for or against her, so I can't say anything about if she will/should/shouldn't be in the next game.

  • Correction, she's toned down to fit the E10+ rating.

  • @Josh The biggest complaint about her is that she's from an M rated game, and because of that she shouldn't be in a game with a large under-18 audience. She was definitely toned down compared to her games, and you can tell just by looking at her source material.

  • Also Smash isn't just for kids. If it was, we wouldn't have characters from T rated games and Snake in Brawl. Smash just has to be so the 10 year olds can handle it.

  • I never said that it was for kids, I just said that there was a large under-18 audience. Given that it's an E10+ game, they have to make it appropriate for kids to play. Snake was in Brawl, and he was from an M rated game, but he didn't spark as much controversy as Bayo did. And not all of that controversy can be linked to her game's rating.
