Why do people think that Cap, Ganon, and Sonic are great against Little Mac?

I often see people switch to one of three of these characters to fight Little Mac, but each of them has a fatal flaw. Ganon hits hard, but Mac has speed. Cap has speed and throws, but most approaches are weak to f-smash and d-smash can ledge guard. F-smash and neut-b powers through all of Sonic's spin dash moves.

  • People probably think Ganon and Mac are good matchups since they have good edgeguarding options. Sonic I couldn't say, but maybe they think just the sheer speed of the character is enough to win.

  • I just never understood Ganon against Little Mac, though. Ganon hits hard, sure, and actually has air game, but he's slow and falls fast. Mac has speed and tons of super armor, making Ganon easy to juggle with tilt combos. I mean, this isn't a given all the time; obviously skill trumps all, and I've had my rear end handed to me by all of these characters when using Mac.

  • But I just never get why people automatically go to these characters when they have a serious disadvantage that Mac can exploit to win. I mean yeah, Mac's weak to throws, but at the same time Mac has the tools to punish and punish hard. Ganon and Slip Counter do not mix well.

  • Ganon is a patient character who mainly relies on others mistakes to attack. Little Mac is the opposite. With Mac, it's about going all out on opponents. With that in mind, it can be quite easy to find a mac player make a mistake, then the ganon will punish heavily on mac since his aerials are strong, unlike mac's.

  • I often find that the opposite is true, at least for me. The Ganons I fight normally try to make the first move, and I wait for the opportune moment to pepper in some f-smashes and start some combos. Normally when I lose to a Ganon, it's when they are able to not let me recoup.

  • Youre describing your typical FG Little Mac. Wait for them to approach and then f-smash and start attacking, appart from abusing super armor. The only thing youre right is that he can easily edgeguard with d-smash. Ganon hits hard, so a bunch of hits and youre offstage, probably if you try to recover he will spike you. Sonic is just to annoying in FG, you kniw what he can do. And C.Falcon, well...
