Upcoming Wii System

Is Nintendo coming out with a new Wii system that's going to replace the Wii U soon? I heard rumors about this, and I'm very curious about this new system coming out soon in late 2016.

    Yes, there is a new console coming, but it's not coming out in 2016. It's coming out in March 2017. And it's not going to be another "Wii" console. Nintendo has said they're moving away from the Wii name and creating something entirely new.

    It is a great system, but it didn't sell well at all. Unfortunately the time is right to move on to something new. Also, NX is just the codename. We still don't know what it's actually going to be called yet.

    Also there is a little streak going on, well sort of. Wii was newest generation for about 4 years and same goes for xbox and playstion. The Wii U, Xbox and PS was out for about 4 years.

    There will be eventually, but it'll probably be a few years. There's usually a pretty long gap between Smash games, so I wouldn't expect Smash 5 until around 2020 at the earliest.

    Some people actually thought that the Wii U was going to be Virtual Boy 2.0, but it actually sold better than expected. Not by a lot, but enough to have pretty great games.

    There's a rumor about a port of Smash 4 launching with the NX, but nothing has been said about Smash 5 (which makes sense considering Smash 4 just ended development a few months ago).
