@Woody that's an interesting theory. i personally think it's the same person as the original old man, but just an alternate version. it's not so far-fetched to think that there may be different versions of characters in alternate timeline.

I'm thinking it's the old man. Yep, the same old man in the original. I bet he'll help Link find the Master Sword, as he gives it to Link in the original. One player kept talking to him, and then special green text popped up saying "Just passing the time". What does the old man in the OG do? Sits in a cave, just passing the time. He also says "I'm just an old man." Like the og game has.

He also is guiding Link through the game, just like in the og. We know the old man in the og is probably a wizard, b/c he knows everything and can teleport. That is why he probably lived until now, and I believe this game might take place after Zelda 2. It also explains his suspicious lines.
