My fully developed theory of BotW's timeline placement. (Will be continued in the comments.) Link has sealed Ganon in WW. He and Tetra arrive above sea, while King Daphnes has sunk. After the events of PH, they find the new continent in ST. They know Ganon's seal will only last 100 years, and so will the flood. Therefore, with the tech in ST, they cryogenically freeze Link for 100 years.

This is why during the events of ST, they had to resort to a train conductor. After 100 years, Hyrule drains. Ganon is broken out, renders the Master Sword useless, and throws it far. He is still weak, so he is in Calamity form. One question... How could a boat drown? Now, that old man in BotW is King Daphnes in disguise. Since Ganon's tower in WW is believed to be the REAL Hyrule castle,

King Daphnes seals him there. Link wakes up to see Hyrule now. Reminder, Hyrule in BotW looks kinda similar to Hyrule in WW underwater. Also, lots of Minerals are on the surface, shown in gameplay. Another reason is because no Master Sword is in the temple of time, so Ganon must of thrown it somewhere in Hyrule. That's pretty much all of my comepletely thought out evidence. Hope you enjoyed!

The only thing is that after WW original Hyrule was flooded and destroyed By the king. I think it's after MM or TP due to the placement of the temple of time and the hyrule castle. I don't think its in the downfall timeline because the temple of time was destroyed by Ganon and never rebuilt. Wait and see where it belongs in the timeline.

@Alec: That was another thought of mine, but I thought it could've been before TP, but after MM, so we can learn a bit of history of how some of the geography changed in TP.
