My thoughts on the Mewtwo vs Shadow Death Battle

The analysis was decent, but the fight was extremely disappointing. This entire season of DB has been lackluster, but this matchup had potential to take DB back to the quality it once had. Instead, while the summary covered both Shadow and Mewtwo rather well, they barely used a quarter of Shadow's or Mewtwo's power in the actual battle.

The finishing move, without spoiling what it was or who won, was also a disappointment. Personally, I consider it the second most facepalm-worthy move in Death Battle history, only beaten by the sheep fall in Zelda vs Peach. As a fan of both characters, I'm not salty about who won, but that they didn't get a better battle.

Mewtwo won i know but Shadow could have healed

Both fighters could have done so much more than what the battle showed. On Shadow's part, he could have used his speed and strength to overwhelm Mewtwo, while Mewtwo could use his healing moves, barriers and mind reading to wear down Shadow, while thinking out a counter strategy. Regardless of the winner, both Shadow and Mewtwo has numerous moves that would be better as the finishing blow.

I mean in Sonic 06, Shadow was able to take on ONE THIRD OF THE UNIVERSE (Final Boss of Sonic 06) Sonic and Silver took on the of thirds in there Super forms. I'm not salty about who won, both are one of my fav. characters but still they didn't even mention the Sonic 06 final boss in the analysis. Plus isn't Shadow a Dark Type? I mean look at Shadow the Hedgehog (The game) if you fill up (cont.)

the dark meter in that game, he can take advantage of Chaos Blast, and isn't a physic weak to dark, ghost and bug? Overall it was a decent fight but lacked backround

Within the Pokémon series, Psychic types are weak to Bug, Ghos and Dark as you mentioned, but I can't remember Shadow's powers being referred to as powers of darkness. Shadow has the power of Chaos Control and he enters his super form with the Chaos emeralds. While Chaos is a powerful force in Sonic, I do not believe it is mentioned in Pokémon as a specific power.

This is one of those complicated things when mixing game universes. There are so many things to consider, it may not be possible to make an accurate representation of how the battle would turn. Another thing I have seen in the past is when one of the combatants come from a stronger/harsher universe than the opponent, making the battle one-sided.

I like a few battles, but yes, the show as a whole is far from perfect. Bias is the worst factor in a show like this(Goku vs Superman), but they also tend to make stupid decisions as to how the character won (the falling sheep in Zelda vs Peach), unfair matchups due to requests (Pokémon vs Digimon), or make matchups that don't even make sense: Link vs Cloud, Yoshi vs Riptor, Ivy vs Orchid, etc.

Their bias also appears in the Mario vs Sonic series. I didn't seem to notice it at first, but then I researched it and they missed A WHOLE LOT OF STUFF! There was M&L:SS which showed they are great strategists, can dodge lazers, and have badges which can stop time or lower stats. They showed Mario RPG which has the Super Suit, which gives him limitless invincibility and PM's Star Rod which...

...grants him any wish. They also missed the bracelets from SA2 and Hyper Sonic. They ignored Mario lifting a castle in SMW and forgot the Werehog. Luigi vs Tails was trash because it used non-canon information and "Luigi struggles to lift a radish". And DK vs Knuckles was bad because it also used non canon information.

Another Ganondorf vs Bowser, eh? That one had potential as well, but towards the end it just felt like a drag. Maybe they should start reusing characters? Plenty of them have more than one viable foe. Shulk vs Cloud would be cool.

I keep wanting them to use Optimus Prime in an episode. I felt they squandered their opponent last time a Transformers character was on DB. This fight was ok. It felt a bit rushed though. I was hoping it would go as long as Dante v. Bayonetta, since it was pretty hard to say who would win. I was also annoyed by how out of character Shadow was throughout.

Dracula from Castlevania would be a more suitable opponent for Ganondorf. Both are skilled in sorcery, while also possessing super human strength, both can transform into a beast, both have a weakness to holy weapons, they're both dark lords, and both are usually fought in a castle.

This battle went pretty much exactly how I thought it would (minus the giant spoon of course). I really thought Silver would've been a more suitable opponent since he's also a psychic user, but oh well. Death Battles I'd like to see: Sora vs Shulk, Yu Narukami & Izanagi (Persona 4) vs Shiro & Saber (Fate Stay Night), Sailor Moon vs Madoka Kaname, Karas vs Zoro (One Piece), Static vs Cole(inFamous)
